If you feel as if your lips are too thin and would like to make them fuller and more conventionally attractive, Lip Fillers from Subbio Plastic Surgery & Medical Spa in Philadelphia could be a great solution for you! Please keep reading below to decide if this is the right treatment for your needs.
Lip Fillers are injections that add volume to your lips using Hyaluronic Acid (HA), a dermal filler that is a synthetic form of a substance that your body naturally produces to help stretch and flex your skin, as well as reduce wrinkles and fine lines. When injected into your lips, the synthetic Hyaluronic Acid gives your lips a fuller and more plump appearance.
Our Philadelphia Lip Filler patients have been able to experience the following benefits of their treatment:
At Subbio Plastic Surgery & Medical Spa, we believe that any adult can be a great candidate for Lip Fillers as long as they have the following characteristics:
If you currently have an active oral infection (i.e. canker sores, cold sores, etc.), this treatment is probably not right for you at this time. We recommend letting the condition heal before coming in for a consultation.
If you’re looking into fuller and poutier lips in Philadelphia, your first step in getting Lip Fillers is to schedule a consultation at Subbio Plastic Surgery & Medical Spa. When you come in for your appointment with either Dr. Subbio or one of our nurse practitioners, you will be able to ask all of your questions related to the treatment and have a better understanding of how it works. They will evaluate your lips and ask about your medical history; it is very important to be completely open and honest when discussing these matters as it helps avoid any unnecessary risks or complications.
After the two of you decide on the appropriate lip filler and the direction of your treatment, your provider will create your treatment plan. When you are happy with the plan, you will be able to receive your treatment immediately after your consultation, but if you’d prefer a different time, our Patient Coordinator will be able to help you schedule your appointment.
When it’s time for your Lip Filler treatment, we will first make you comfortable in our reclining chair. Next, we will apply a topical anesthetic to your lips to prevent any pain and make your experience as comfortable as possible. Please keep in mind that while the treatment is rather quick, it will take about 15 to 30 minutes for your lips to become fully numb.
Your provider will use a thin needle to inject the lip filler into your lips at strategic locations, which can include the edges of your lips (vermillion border), the corners of your mouth, and your Cupid’s Bow, which is the curve in the center of your upper lip. While you shouldn’t feel any pain, many patients have expressed there is a pinching sensation, that can cause eyes to water. After evaluating the results and deciding that enough filler has been used, your injector will end the session by gently massaging your lips. This action helps the filler to be naturally distributed.
We will keep you for about 15 minutes to ensure you don’t experience any side effects, such as dizziness, nausea, or substantial bleeding. During this time, we will provide you with an ice pack for your lips to minimize swelling and bruising.
After your Lip Filler treatment, your injector may give you an ice pack to apply to the treated area to help reduce swelling and discomfort. You may also be advised to avoid certain activities, such as drinking alcohol or vigorous exercise, for a short period of time after the treatment.
Overall, the Lip Filler procedure is quick, easy, and relatively painless, and you should be able to resume your normal activities immediately after the procedure is done.
The cost of Lip Fillers in Philadelphia will be different for each patient, but the primary deciding factors are which filler you use and how much of it you will need. When you come in for your consultation and have a treatment plan made, our Patient Coordinator can provide you with a more accurate cost and breakdown.
