What to Expect on the Day of a MOXI Treatment

On the day of your MOXI treatment, you will begin with a topical numbing cream being applied to the area being treated. Your provider will take the handheld MOXI laser and move it across your skin. You may also be provided with some tinted protective eyewear to shield your eyes from the light of the laser.

You will experience a slight warming sensation which indicates the laser is working and creating micro-coagulation zones in your skin. This causes your body to naturally repair these zones and replace the damaged cells with healthy and vibrant skin.

Depending on the size of the treatment area or areas, this procedure will last anywhere between 30 – 90 minutes.

MOXI Recovery

After your MOXI treatment, you will be able to return to your normal activities immediately afterward. You will be encouraged to wear moisturizing sunscreen and try to avoid sunlight because your skin is sensitive to UV rays. You will also need to avoid wearing makeup during the first 24 hours to give your rejuvenated skin the best opportunity to heal properly.

Your skin may appear red initially after your treatment, and depending on the degree of your treatment, there may be some microdots called “mends” where the laser was applied. As the microzones heal, they will darken and feel a little rough to the touch, but after about three or five days, these mends will fall off and reveal the new skin beneath.

If you require multiple sessions, they will need to be separated by about two to six weeks, depending on the coverage area and the health of the skin underneath.
