These are some of the happiest and most transformed patients which Dr. Subbio treats.

What Procedures Are Included in Post Weight Loss Plastic Surgery?

Which Post Weight Loss Plastic Surgery Procedures Are Right For Me?

If you have had bariatric surgery and have lax skin remaining on your body, Post Weight Loss Plastic Surgery might be a good choice for you.

During your consultation, Dr. Subbio will examine you and let you know which surgeries will help you get rid of loose skin and residual deposits of fat that remain after your bariatric surgery. If you still expect to lose a significant amount of weight, however, it’s best to postpone your surgeries, as additional substantial weight loss could cause more lax skin.

What To Expect During Post Weight Loss Surgery

Your individual surgery will be tailored to you after your consultation with Dr. Subbio. There are some consistencies that can be covered. For a full description of each of the procedures used in Post Weight Loss Surgery see the FAQs at the bottom of this page.

Some procedures may be combined. Most people require more than one surgery performed separately, depending on the severity of their situation, with recovery time in between. You’ll be anesthetized during your surgeries, so you’ll feel no pain.

All surgeries involve some discomfort after the anesthesia wears off, though. Most people find that the discomfort is less than they expected, and we’ll give you pain medication to help you get through your recovery as easy as possible. Plus, you can text or call Dr. Subbio at any time with your questions!

Why Should I Choose Dr. Subbio for My Post Weight Loss Plastic Surgery?

He gives all his patients his cell phone number. He’ll call you the night after your surgery to check on you, as well as the next morning. And he’ll make sure your recovery is as comfortable as possible. He’s a trained artist, and you’re his canvas. It’s the perfect marriage of science and artistry.

He’s fun! He likes to joke with his patients and put them at ease. Plus, we maintain a small office where we treat our patients like a part of the family. He won’t try to convince you to have a procedure that isn’t best for you.

He’d rather lose your business than sign you up for a procedure he isn’t 100% behind. And if he thinks you need a procedure he doesn’t offer, he’ll recommend a different surgeon for you.

After Post Weight Loss Surgery

For the most part, you will be able to see your results immediately after surgery, but post-surgical swelling can prevent you from seeing the final results of your procedures for a few months. While you are recovering It’s better to sleep in a position that does not put pressure on the area that was operated on. For example, if you have a Tummy Tuck, please do not sleep on your stomach. If you have a breast procedure, you will need to sleep on your back for about a month.

There is scarring after surgery, but Dr. Subbio will make the incisions in discrete areas whenever possible and do his best to minimize scarring. Over time, whatever scars are present will flatten, fade, and become less noticeable. We will give you full instructions to help you heal quickly and comfortably after your chosen procedures. Most procedures do not require a hospital stay. However, a Body Lift may necessitate a night in the hospital.

Do I Need General Anesthesia for Post Weight Loss Plastic Surgery?

It depends on the procedures you will have done. Some surgeries require general anesthesia, while others can be performed using a local anesthetic and light sedation.

After nearly all procedures, however, you will be able to go home the same day, provided someone is available to drive you home. In the case of a Body Lift, you may need to be hospitalized briefly.
