Juvederm is an Injectable Facial Filler Used to Soften Deep Folds and Reduce Wrinkles

Juvederm is largely hyaluronic acid, a substance naturally found in the skin, muscles, and tendons of mammals. Juvederm Volbella can be used for lip augmentation and correction of perioral lines.

It can effectively increase lip fullness and soften the appearance of lines around the mouth for up to a year. Juvederm Volbella can be paired beautifully with Juvederm to reshape and redefine lips and facial contours. There are many options available for you when it comes to getting Juvederm in Philadelphia.

What is the Juvederm Procedure?

It usually takes between 15 and 60 minutes for our Philadelphia Juvederm treatment, hinging on the location and number of treatment areas. A topical numbing agent or injectable anesthesia can help desensitize the area.

Dr. Subbio injects the Juvederm into your skin and gently massages the area for even distribution. The procedure can be reversed if you are unhappy with any of the results. Dr. Subbio offers diverse Juvederm products, including:

  • Volbella to add volume to the lips and smooth wrinkles around the mouth
  • Voluma to instantly add volume to the cheek area and correct age-related volume loss.

Juvederm FAQs

Juvederm works for all skin types and can help everyone dealing with the loss of volume due to the aging process.

The results from your Juvederm treatment are natural-looking, allowing you to return to work after your visit. Keep in mind you may develop some swelling or bruising the following day, especially if this is your first treatment. Any medications or exercises that increase your blood flow increases the risk of swelling.

It is improbable you would have an allergic reaction to the filler since your body recognizes that hyaluronic acid is not a foreign substance.

Give yourself 24 hours to recover before going back to the gym. Also, avoid activities that can increase blood flow to your face like a massage or a facial.

Swelling can initially alter the shape of your lips until they gradually settle into their natural, final state.

Juvederm is a straightforward procedure with minimal recovery that allows most people to return to work after their treatment. If possible, it is beneficial to stay in an upright position for four hours once you leave our practice.

You may notice some bruising or swelling or experience some discomfort for the first week. You may apply an ice pack for ten minutes every few hours to bring down swelling. It is recommended you sleep with your head elevated and supported by pillows for the first two nights. Things to avoid for at least the first 24 hours are exposure to the sun, taxing exercises, and alcohol.

Dr. Subbio cares about his patients and is dedicated to ensuring your recovery goes as smoothly as possible. Dr. Subbio has made it a standard practice to call his patients the night after their procedure to check up on their recovery. Dr. Subbio examines his patients in person on follow-up visits to ensure recovery is proceeding as expected.
