Breast augmentation can have a drastic effect on a woman’s form. It can help her “fill out a bra”, match her breasts to her body shape, restore her shape to her pre-child-bearing years, or simply make her feel more feminine and increase her confidence. Some women prefer mild changes, some prefer more pronounced results, but regardless of what your goals are, it is important that your Philadelphia plastic surgeon has an artistic eye for the female form.

Revision Breast Augmentation FAQs
If you have had a poor result from a previous Breast Augmentation or need to replace breast implants, you might wish to have Revision Breast Augmentation.
Sometimes, Revision Breast Augmentation is needed after a capsular contracture, a complication from Breast Augmentation in which scar tissue forms around the breast implants. In other cases, a woman might wish to change the size or type of her implants. Other women may feel that placement of the implants over the chest muscle has resulted in an unnatural look or feel, so they may decide to have revision surgery to place the implants under the chest muscle.
Not in most cases. Revision Breast Augmentation can usually be performed using just a local anesthetic and sedation. While you won’t be fully asleep, you’ll be very relaxed, and you won’t feel any pain. You’ll be groggy afterward, though, so please bring someone along to make sure you get home safely.
The surgery is highly customized depending upon the issues you face and the corrections you need. Dr. Subbio will let you know his surgical plan for you prior to the date of your surgery. His goal is always to give you a beautiful result with minimal scarring.
You’ll be anesthetized during your surgery, so you’ll feel no pain. All surgeries involve some discomfort after the anesthesia wears off, though. Most people find that the discomfort after Revision Breast Augmentation is less than they expected, and we’ll give you pain medication to help you get through your recovery as easily as possible. Plus, you can text or call Dr. Subbio at any time with your questions!
Definitely! Dr. Subbio is dedicated to making sure you recover as easily as possible with excellent results.
You can expect some bruising after Breast Augmentation, but it should resolve quickly.
There are scars, but Dr. Subbio will try to minimize scarring. When possible, he will open the same incisions as your original surgery. In any case, over time, the scars will also flatten, fade, and become less noticeable.
Yes. Your implants and surgery shouldn’t affect pregnancy or breast feeding.
Yes, for the most part, but it will take a few weeks for all of the swelling to resolve. Until then, you will not be able to see your final results.
We think there are several reasons! Here are just a few:
- He gives all his patients his cell phone number. He’ll call you the night after your surgery to check on you, as well as the next morning. And he’ll make sure your recovery is as comfortable as possible.
- He’s a trained artist, and you’re his canvas. It’s the perfect marriage of science and artistry. In fact, he’ll hand-draw his projected results right in front of you during your consultation.
- He’s fun! He likes to joke with his patients and put them at ease. Plus, we maintain a small office where we treat our patients like a part of the family.
- He won’t try to convince you to have a procedure that isn’t best for you. He’d rather lose your business than sign you up for a procedure he isn’t 100% behind. And if he thinks you need a procedure he doesn’t offer, he’ll recommend a different surgeon for you.
Absolutely! During your consultation, Dr. Subbio will examine you and discuss the issues you’re facing. Then, he’ll tell you exactly what he recommends to correct the issues so that you can have a positive result from your revision surgery.
No. Revision Breast Augmentation is usually an outpatient procedure, so after a short period of recovery time, you can go home the same day.
The surgery time varies depending on your particular case.
You can expect some swelling, bruising, itching, tenderness, and a feeling of tightness for a week or two. Sutures will either dissolve on their own, or we’ll remove them about a week after your surgery.
You will wear a special support bra for a few weeks.
Most women go back to work within a week of Revision Breast Augmentation, but it will depend upon the extent of your particular surgery.
We ask that you refrain from strenuous exercise or heavy lifting for 4-6 weeks.
Yes, but it’s better if you sleep on your back for about 4 weeks.
Yes. Your implants and surgery do not usually affect mammography.
Today’s implants usually last 10-20 years.
